Sport Pilot
Private Pilot

The Sport Pilot license is a quicker and cheaper option for anyone who wants to learn how to fly.  As a sport pilot you will be able to fly light sport aircraft with one passenger.  You are also limited to where and when you can fly.  But if you want to start enjoying the world of flight sooner, the sport pilot is the way to go.

 

Requirements

- Be at least 16 years of age

- Be able to read, speak, and understand the English language

- Obtain at least a driver's license or third-class medical certificate

- Receive a minimum of 20 hours of flight time including training and          solo flight

- Pass a knowledge test as well as the practical test

The Private Pilot license is the most common of aviation licenses that everyone starts with.  This license allows you to fly more aircrafts and more passengers into more areas.  More hours of training is required versus a sport pilot due to the increase responsibilites.

 

Requirements

- Be at least 16 years of age

- Be able to read, speak, and understand the English language

- Obtain at least a current third-class medical certificate

- Receive a minimum of 40 hours of flight time including training and          solo flight

- Pass a knowledge test as well as the practical test
